I want to make sure that everyone knows about this lecture run by The Western Beekeepers Alliance. This is an opportunity not to be missed. “When it’s gone, it’s gone”. It is an all day event being run in the comfortable surroundings of one of the modern buildings at NUI Galway. (National University of Ireland Galway) THe lectures will be held in The Martin Ryan Institute, NUI Galway.
For a Google Map to the venue: scroll down to the bottom of the page.
It starts at 9:30am on Sat 22nd September and finishes at around six o’clock.. The program is attached below. Just click on the Lecture Programme link.
The star lecturer is Celia Davis. She is a well know beekeeper, an entertaining speaker and author of two beekeeping books, i.e. The Honey Bee Inside Out and The Honey Bee Round & About. This is the last opportunity we will have to hear her as she is giving up doing this type of speaking engagement.
Other speakers are:
Mary Coffey from Teagasc, she tests the samples that we send to be Analysed for diseases and parasites and had a vast knowledge of same.
Ted Massey from the department of agriculture.
Grace McCormack of the NUI Galway, Zoology Department
Gerald Reynolds of our insurance company, who will answer all of our questions.
I think you will agree that this is a serious line-up for a mere €20 and will be of value to all beekeepers, whether professional of amateur. Their topics are in the program I have attached to this email.
To book your seat and secure a place click here. You can also take a chance and pay cash at the door. Same charge, €20.
If you have any questions about this you can ask on the Tribes’ WhatsApp or email at:
If anyone is willing to help us with a few little jobs on the day, please come a little early and help us get organised. But, either way we look forward to seeing you there.
